SUSTAINABILITY

Low carbon circular economy

At De la Conca we believe that business growth should not come at the expense of planet or society. In this context of the global Climate Crisis, we know that the climate has always evolved naturally. Unfortunately, there is now convincing evidence around the world that reveals that a new type of climate change is underway that endangers the composition, resilience and productivity of ecosystems as well as the economic and social development, health and well-being of the humanity.

Food and agriculture are one of the sectors that have contributed the most and will be more impacted by climate change. For this reason it is very It is important that we act to limit GHG emissions and build chains resilient and sustainable supply systems to continue providing food to the world.

Fortunately, with the De La Conca team, we are redefining growth by advocating a low-carbon, circular economy based on the following three principles: Keep products and materials in use, regenerate natural systems, eliminate waste and pollution from design.

Ecological agriculture

At De la Conca we only make certified organic products. Global agriculture has reached a crossroads. Even though the system traditional food production has boosted agricultural production during In the past decades, so have its adverse effects on the environment and society. Soil degradation, loss of biodiversity, water pollution, climate change, dead zones in the oceans are just some of the challenges we face.

As an alternative, organic farming favors small farms favoring biodiversity, contrary to large farms monoculture.

Ecological agriculture offers an agricultural system whose objective is to obtain of food of the highest quality, respecting the environment and preserving soil fertility through optimal use of natural resources. To do this, he uses biological and mechanical cultivation methods and avoids products synthetic chemicals.

At De la Conca, we share with experts that organic farming and sustainable is part of the solution to a more sustainable development.

Ecodesign, life cycle analysis and compensation

All our products are carbon-free, we measure and offset 100% of the emissions in the life cycle of our products.

At De la Conca we believe that everything that can be measured can be improved. It is for this reason that we Eco-design all our products including the environment as another criterion to take into account in the design and formulation of our products through Life Cycle Analysis technology, a tool that provides us with environmental information and thus power make better decisions.

Life Cycle Analysis, LCA, is a standardized tool that allows a product, process, service or organization to be environmentally evaluated from a life cycle perspective.

When we do the ecodesign of our products we consider:

Thanks to the information obtained from the LCA studies, reviewed by a third independent organization and complying with the ISO 14040/44 principles, at De la Conca we can offer our customers eco-designed products with a REDUCED environmental impact. In addition, it provides us with information to continue contributing our bit for a more respectful and sustainable world, COMPENSATING 100% of the emissions of our products throughout their life cycle.

We collaborate with Plant for the Planet to meet our goal of being 100% carbon free where:

Social Responsability

We are committed to social responsibility, through artisan work and locally made.

We collaborate with organizations that contribute to the labor insertion of people with disabilities and mental disorders. Helping to create new opportunities and to give value to all abilities.

Through our collaboration with Plant for the Planet, we support the Development of Environmental Education Actions aimed at children and young people in Spain. In addition, through our dissemination and pedagogy actions in networks, we contribute to incentivize plant-based consumption as an alternative more healthy and sustainable to animal protein.

We are committed to organic, local and socially responsible food production
